Three main things You can do to prevent dengue and safeguard your family now:
- Eliminate all breeding sites; this is necessary to control mosquitoes that have migrated from surrounding areas.
- Clear all areas with uncontrolled weeds near your home, where possible clear vacant lots that surround you.
- Empty all uncovered water tanks, empty cans, bottles, jars and other vessels that will hold small quantities of water. Mosquitoes are often found in un used toilet bowls. These areas should be checked frequently.

- Ades Aegypti Mosquitoes prefers relatively clear water.
- Ades Aegypti eggs hatch in water in 2 days.
- Adult Ades Aegypti mosquitoes like to rest on vegetation.
